The Basics
Emma was born on December 9th, 1973 in Calgary, AB. She attended school there until graduating from high school in 1991. Later that year, she went to the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, SK. Emma graduated from the U of S in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (BSA) degree with a Major in Food Science.
Peter was born on May 20th, 1971 in Michélè Natal, BC. He attended school in Saskatoon and Delisle, SK graduating from high school in 1989. Peter graduated from the U of S in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (BSA) degree with a Major in Food Science. Peter also earned his MBA from the University of Ashford (Clinton, IA) in 2007. He currently works overseas as a Quality Assurance / Reverse Osmosis Manager at a water bottling facility on one of the US military bases in Iraq.
It was in 1993 that Emma and Peter met. They were working on opposite sides of a bench in a Food Chemisty class. Emma and Peter were married on July 22, 2000 in a lovely outdoor ceremony in Calgary, AB. Both are animal lovers so share their home with 6 dogs, 2 cats, and 3 horses. They do competitive agility with the dogs, and Emma is also involved in dressage with her horses.
But What Is EweJump?
The name EweJump evolved from our passion for dogs and agility. We love the sport which consists of navigating your dog around a series of obstacles, including jumps. We both really enjoy working with our dogs, which happen to be herding dogs. Emma runs Border Collies (and one Shetland Sheepdog cross) and Peter runs Australian Shepherds. Herding dogs work sheep, which include rams and ewes. Jumps and Ewes, Ewes and Jumps... You can see how the name evolved...
